My version of Paul Hayes' 15mm PHQFH with
Trifilar Balun
22mm QFH made 'Tall and Thin' to get better
horizon performance
My first ever QFH. Its beauty is in the
careful construction (NOT!)
Much more successful 'Tall Thin' Coax type in
use for 1999 APT Competition.
This is a static version of my mobile aerial.
It uses the same dimensions for the loops but has five pairs of
cross members to maintain a good helix shape. My most successful
APT aerial so far.
Another homemade beauty. My friends said I
should get out more so I built this to go mobile with. It's a
Chris van Lint / Eugene Buck type with removable cross members
for easy transport. I have to paint all my aerials in camouflage
colours to keep our neighbours quiet!
This was a complete disaster. It was supposed
to be ultra lightweight and portable but the use of 2mm coax made
it useless. I think the problem was impedance mismatching.
